Cozy Cable-Knit: A Fall to Winter OOTD

Hey there, loves!

The season of twinkly lights and coziness is upon us!   That means it’s time to break out those chunky sweaters and warm jackets!  I absolutely love all things about fall and winter.  In my opinion, this time of year is the best by far.  The Christmas decorations are already up in my house and I am listening to festive music at this very moment.   Of course, I had to include my merry Starbucks coffee that I was sipping while taking these cozy photos -it was keeping me warm in the freezing weather!

IMG_2175

Today, I’m rocking a super cute and comfy outfit to get into the holiday mood, including some clothing pieces that were so kindly given to me by thredUp.  If you’ve never heard of it, it’s an awesome online place to shop for major deals on clothes and accessories!  Most prices are up to 90% off retail price, which is perfect for this gift giving season!  The Ann Taylor jacket that I am wearing today only cost me $50 compared to the original price of $228!  Also, I got a great deal on my cable-knit sweater from the Gap, which happened to inspire this ensemble!  I hope that you enjoy my wintery outfit of the day and it sends rays of coziness to you through the screen.

While the exact pieces I discovered on thredUp aren’t available any longer, I did find some pretty similar items for the sweater and coat!  You can also check out thredUp for yourself and find some treasures of your own for this cozy weather!  They have a huge assortment of clothes to choose from and you can specify what condition you’d prefer.  Both items I received were brand new with the tags attached!  It’s a great website if you like quality, name brand clothes with better prices. On top of all that, they’re a brand that’s great for the environment since they’ve upcycled 12 million items and saved them from going into the trash!

2 Ingredient Cookies | Easy, Quick, and Healthy!

Hello, beauties!

I don’t know about you, but I personally think cookies are one of the greatest creations ever.  I am normally too lazy to spend an hour baking, so I love being able to whip up a batch of these in just a few minutes.  Not only are these cookies super quick and easy to make, they are also healthy and would even make the perfect breakfast!  I will be putting this recipe to use a lot this year on my way to class, since these delicious creations are perfect to grab on the go!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Ripe Bananas
  • 1 cup of old-fashioned oats

healthy cookies

Some Optional Add-Ins:

  • Chocolate Chips
  • Craisins
  • Apple Sauce
  • Cinnamon
  • Nuts
  • Vanilla Extract

healthy cookies  Breakfast for School

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease your baking sheet.   I like to grease foil with a bit of butter and place that on my baking pan to reduce the amount of dishes. 😉
  2. Mash up your bananas with a fork or potato masher.  This step is much easier when the bananas are very ripe.  A good tip if your bananas aren’t ripe enough yet is to microwave them for 30 seconds beforehand to make them a bit softer and easier to use.healthy cookies
  3. Stir in your oats.  Don’t be afraid to get messy at this point.  If your having trouble using a spatula, use your hands (clean ones, of course! 😉 to mix the oats and banana together!   Sometimes, I like to add 1/3 cup more oats to make the mixture a bit thicker, so feel free to adjust the amount of oats until you get your desired consistency. I don’t recommend doing much more than 1 3/4 cups of oats as the cookies can become dry.
Breakfast for School Breakfast for School
  4. Mix in your add-ins of choice.  These cookies are great without any extra ingredients, but I love to add in a handful of craisins, a dash of cinnamon, and a few spoonfuls of apple sauce.  The apple sauce helps to add more moisture and give the cookies a really yummy apple flavor!   To keep the recipe on the healthier side, I use reduced sugar craisins and sugar-free apple sauce.Breakfast for School
  5. Pop the cookies into the oven for 10-15 minutes.  The longer you leave them in, the more crunch you’ll get on the outside of the cookie!  I usually get about 18 smaller cookies out of this mixture, but you can make them as big as your little heart desires. healthy cookies  healthy cookies
  6. Enjoy! 🙂

Can you believe how simple these cookies are?  They are so easy and quick to make!  These are the perfect on-the-go breakfast or snack that will keep you full and completely free of guilt.  They’re perfect on school or work mornings when you don’t have time to make breakfast before you run out the door and even make a great snack to munch on throughout the day!

DIY Lip Scrub | Lush Dupe

Hello, lovelies!

Today, I will be showing you a super simple DIY lip scrub that I love!  It is made with household ingredients, so it is very convenient and cheap!  I love Lush’s lip scrubs as much as the next girl, but I actually prefer the ones I make myself and they are way cheaper since they’re homemade! This scrub smells amazing and is adjustable to whatever you might have on hand. Enjoy!

IMG_5748

www.LipstickLovely.com

You will need:

  • 1 TBSP Brown (or white) sugar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (or olive oil)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

IMG_5691 (1) IMG_5697 IMG_5698

Simply mix all of the ingredients together and feel free to adjust the amounts of ingredients to your liking until you get the perfect consistency and sugar-to-oil ratio.  Then pop the mixture into some cute containers and get scrubbing!

IMG_5700 (1)IMG_5715IMG_5732 (2)IMG_5727 (1)IMG_5724 (1)IMG_5719=

The sugar scrub will exfoliate all of the dead, flaky skin off of your lips, while the coconut oil moisturizes.  The honey gives the scrub a nice texture and scent and the cinnamon will increase blood flow to your lips causing them to be plumper after using the scrub!  The vanilla is optional along with the cinnamon, but I really recommend adding this to your scrub since it makes it smell SO amazing.

I hope that you all enjoy this simple DIY and try it out yourself!  It is my favorite lip scrub and I think you’ll love it, too!  Thanks for reading!

Hanna

Travel Beauty Tips & Tricks

Hello, beautiful people:)

Today, I’ll be sharing with you a few things that really help me out when traveling and make my life so much easier!  I hope that these tips help you out, too!

Screen Shot 2015-08-12 at 12.17.06 AM

  1.  Get samples of your favorite beauty products that are too big to travel with!  I hate packing a huge foundation bottle into my bag, so I head into Sephora and ask for a sample of all of my necessities that won’t fit in my suitcase.

IMG_4741

2. Keep all of your makeup essentials (concealer, mascara, and other main necessities) in a bag with you in your carryon just in case you need to fix up your makeup!

3. Wear all of your biggest clothing items onto the plane if you can.  If you want to pack boots and a jacket with you, simply wear them during the flight to save tons of packing space!

4. Bring lots of intense moisturizers!  Planes suck the moisture out of your skin, so make sure you pack night creams to apply either on the plane or once you reach your destination!  Don’t forget the hand cream, too!  My favorite moisturizing product for extra dry skin is Ultrabalm from Lush.

IMG_4761

5. Use little bags or pill containers to pack jewelry.  This keeps all those necklaces from getting tangled! I purchased these cute bags from Walmart for super cheap and they are great for this job!

IMG_5082 IMG_5078 IMG_5096 IMG_5099 IMG_5088 IMG_5086

6. Bring sanitizing and makeup wipes!   These wipes are both going to be a necessity while traveling.  You never know when you’ll need to wipe something up or clean off your hands!  Makeup wipes come in handy when you need to refresh your skin or take off your makeup during a red-eye flight!

IMG_4754

6. Pack your clothing in categorized ziploc bags; shirts in one bag, pants in another, etc.  This will make it easier to find what you need and also take up less space since you can smoosh the air out of the bags before packing them.  Bring extra for wet bathing suits, dirty clothes, or garbage!

7. Bring easy- to-use products such as lip and cheek stains and cream products.  My favorites are Benefit’s Lollitint,  Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadows and NYX’s Cream Blushes.

Ipsy Bag Unboxing | July 2015

Hello, lovelies!

Today, I’ll be showing you all the wonderful things that arrived inside that beautiful bright pink packaging in the mail!  It’s Ipsy unboxing time!  I’m excited!  My favorite Ipsy bags are always their pretty, summery ones.  Let’s dig in!

IMG_0424

I really like the bag!  Very summery and colorful.  Also, I love the little card that they included -the floaties they have just look so cute!

IMG_2985

Firstly, I pulled out a lip product; Read My Lips Lipstick from Teeez Cosmetics in the shade Killing Me Softly.  I love how cute the colorful skulls on the packaging are!  The tube it comes in reminds me of the packaging from Colourpop’s Lippie Stix.  This lip product is a bright coral-y, peach-y pink.  It is a satin, but slightly matte finish.  The color is perfect for Summer, but I found that it’s SO pigmented and creamy that it makes it a little hard to apply without smearing all over my face.  Maybe it’s just me -I tend to be a little slow in the lipstick applying department. heh.  The color is extremely bright, which isn’t my go-to look and it also settles into all of the lines on my lips.  It has an odd, chemically smell, which I’m not very fond of.  Overall, I think it’s a cute product, but I won’t reach for it very often.

IMG_3029IMG_3026 IMG_3024IMG_3005

Next, I opened a brown 2-in-1 Shadow/Liner from Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics.  I do not have eyeliner set on my account preferences as something that I want sent to me, but somehow, I end up with one in every bag that I receive, so I wasn’t super excited upon discovering this.  However, I do like the product and think it’s a pretty liner and shadow!

IMG_3008IMG_3009

I then found some Jor’el Parker perfume in the scent Classico.  I normally am not a fan of high-end or fancy perfumes because the smell is so overpowering, but I actually really, really enjoy this one!  It smells amazing!  It isn’t too flowery or strong; it’s right in between sweet and fresh.  They describe the scent as: “Exotic, inspiring, and full of surprises, Classico whisks you away from the day-to-day. Indulge in the spicy seduction of Indian Tuberose, the striking and sweet sensation of Turkish Cyclamen and the purifying calm of Spanish Mandarin.”  My nose isn’t refined enough to detect whatever Turkish Cyclamen smells like, but I absolutely love the scent!

IMG_3015IMG_3013 IMG_3036

Next, I pulled out some Pür~lisse Pur-Bright Ultra Skin Brightening Serum.  I have really sensitive skin, but I’m hoping that this will work well on it! The serum benefits are:

  • Brightens skin tone.
  • Evens out skin without the use of harsh chemicals.
  • Hydroquinone-Free.
  • Decreases the appearance of age spots and sun damages.

IMG_3019

Lastly, I discovered some Crown Brush tweezers in my bag, which can always come in handy.  This is something I know I’ll use!

IMG_3045

The retail prices of these products:

Jelly Pong Pong Liner – $16

Teeez Cosmetics Read My Lips Lipstick – $22

Pür-lisse Pur-Bright Ultra Skin Brightening Serum – $76

J’orel Parker Classico Mini Roller Perfume (.29 oz.) – $21

Crown Brush Professional Tweezers – $17.49

The total retail price of this bag is *drumroll*… $152.49!

This Ipsy bag cost only $10… that’s a pretty insane difference!  You do have to take into account that the brightening serum is a sample size in the bag, but since they don’t sell  it in that size, I had to include it’s retail price in full size, which is much larger.

Overall, I think this bag is pretty good.  The products are great, but some of them are things that I won’t use very often.  There were a couple of full-size things included, which I loved!  I like the bag itself since it’s so summery!  The value of it’s products compared to the $10 I paid for the bag is pretty incredible!

If you haven’t signed up for Ipsy yet, I think that it’s a pretty amazing subscription!  It costs $10 per month and is set up for your preferences on products you’d like to receive.  If you’d like to try it out, you can sign up here!

Thanks so much for reading!  Do you have an Ipsy account?  If so, what did you receive this month?  What did you think of the products?

Hanna

My Favorite Nude Lip Products | Your Lips But Better

Hello, people of the internet!

I am so excited to share with you my top nude lip products!  I could not live without these babies in my life.  I don’t ever like much color on my lips, so I really love nice and neutral tones.  I am more of a lipgloss kind of a girl and have chosen mostly glosses and chubby sticks for my little bundle of lip products since they are more natural, but I did still include one amazing, fantastic, PERFECT lipstick to round it all out. 🙂  I hope you enjoy seeing all my favorite nude products I use on my lips almost every day!

IMG_0983 IMG_0985 IMG_0884

Let’s start with my favorite, because it deserves the most attention… Buxom’s Dolly Lipgloss. OH. MY. GOODNESS.  I can’t describe to you how happy this lipgloss makes me.  The color is so PERFECT.  It may not look nude, but this color is very natural when worn and just gives a light wash of color and glossiness.  It has a slight shimmer to it and is pretty sheer.  I think this would work well on many skin tones; it works on me when I’m pale and when I’m tan. It is a very natural color that just gives my lips a little more pop without really looking like I have much of anything on.  It gives the appearance that my lips are just naturally glistening and flushed and perfect. You can see why I love it.

IMG_0936 IMG_0942  IMG_0945

Onto my second favorite, NYX’s Butter Gloss in the shade Tiramisu.  This shade is also very universal and works on my skin no matter what shade I am at the moment.  It doesn’t have shimmer, just a nice glossy finish and a “your lips, but better” color.

IMG_0895 IMG_0900 IMG_0902IMG_0906 (1) IMG_0907 (1)

A similar, but high-end version of this gloss is Laura Mercier’s Bare Pink Gloss.  This shade is a little lighter, but I find the formula and finish of the gloss to be pretty similar to NYX’s butter gloss.  It’s a sheer wash of pink and even though it’s a lighter tone, it doesn’t wash me out when my skin is tan, because the color isn’t too opaque.

IMG_0916 IMG_0909 IMG_0910 IMG_0917

Next, I have a newer addition to my little bundle of nude lippies, which is my Mac Satin Lipstick in Faux.  I can’t describe to you how much I love the contents of this wondrous little MAC tube.  The color is PERFECT for a super natural, yet perfect-looking nude lip that won’t wash you out or make your teeth look yellow. (I have that trouble sometimes with nude colors) The finish is satin -as the tube says- and stays on ALL. DAY.  It applies really easily and doesn’t look overpowering for everyday wear.  In one word: perfection.  If you are looking for a MAC lipstick to invest in but don’t want to spend that much money on a shade that you won’t actually wear very often or are just overwhelmed by the amount of different shades they carry, I really, really highly suggest this shade.  It’s also a great gift since the color is so universal.

IMG_0927 IMG_0926 IMG_0924 IMG_0923 IMG_0921 IMG_0931

This next lip product has a little more color, but in my opinion, still falls under the nude category since the coverage is very sheer and light.  This little beauty is a type of chubby stick/gloss; Tarte’s Lipsurgence Natural Lip Luster in the shade Glisten.  First of all, the packaging is super cute, as it always is with Tarte.  This lippie is a gorgeous, peachy, nude color.  It’s coverage is very light and absolutely perfect for everyday wear, ESPECIALLY in the Summer.  It has a slight shimmer to it and adds a really natural pop of color to your lips without anyone really noticing that anything’s there- your lips just look like they naturally glow from within. *chorus of angels sings in the background*

IMG_0980 IMG_0975 IMG_0970 IMG_0977

A super affordable and beautiful nude chubby stick-type of lip product that I have been loving for a few months is Bonne Bell’s Lip Tint in Brown Voyage.  It is my favorite out of this entire group for when I just want a chapstick-like product that is going to enhance my lips slightly, but I don’t really have to think about when applying.  This is perfect for when I am running out the door or just to throw in my purse.  The shade is pretty much the exact same as my natural lips and just enhances the color and gives the perfect amount of shine and hydration.  I really recommend having this product in your purse or in your car just to throw on! 🙂

IMG_0961 IMG_0965 IMG_0967 (1)

I didn’t buy into all of the NYX Butter Gloss hype for a very long time, but obviously, I couldn’t resist since I not only included one, but TWO Butter Glosses in this post! hehe.. This gloss is a bit of a brighter, more blue-toned pink that is great for Summer, especially on lighter skin tones.  This shade is called Éclair. I love how they named these glosses after desserts, it makes me drool over them even more!

IMG_0893 IMG_0891 IMG_0889 IMG_0887

Lastly, for when I am a little paler and want a nice nude gloss, I use NARS’ Turkish Delight.  It works well with a tan, too, if I just use a very light swish of it and don’t go too crazy or else, it can wash me out.  It gives the perfect shine to my lips and doesn’t have any shimmer.  I also love putting this overtop of lipsticks that I think are too dark for everyday wear on their own to just lighten them up a bit and give some shine.

IMG_0949 IMG_0951IMG_0953 IMG_0955 IMG_0957 IMG_0960

I hope that you enjoyed seeing all of my favorite nude lip products!  Until next time!

XO,

Hanna

My Summer Playlist 2015

Hello, wonderful people of the internet!

I personally think that blasting good music and driving down the highway is one of the best parts of summer.  These are the current songs that I would roll the windows down to.  I’ve put them all together here on my spotify playlist and I hope that you all enjoy listening to them as much as I have!  They are perfect to embrace summer with:)

4th of July Party Ideas! | DIY Photo Booth, Snacks, Makeup, and More!

Hello again!

Happy 4th of July!

IMG_0361

Today I am so excited to be sharing with you guys some super festive, fun, and easy things you can do to make your fourth just a little more spectacular!  I have put together a bunch of cute ideas for an Independence Day Party and hope that this post helps some of you out and gives you a little patriotic inspiration!  All of these ideas are very inexpensive and can be done last minute as this holiday tends to creep up rather quickly most of the time! 🙂 Let’s begin, shall we?

First off, let’s put on some festive makeup to get in the mood for this fabulous party we’ll be throwing!  I started off with my base makeup on and eyes prepped.

IMG_0182

I added a brown shade called Tease from the Naked 2 palette to my crease with Sephora’s crease brush.  As you can see I love this color quite a lot.  I am devastated that I can barely get any product out of the pan anymore!

IMG_0247  IMG_0184

Next, I placed a shimmery, silver shade called Verve, again from the Naked 2 palette, all over my lid to give it some sparkle with Sephora’s shadow brush.

IMG_0194 IMG_0218

IMG_0252

I then put a bright, sparkly white shade called Swan Song (ooh, how fancy!) from my little Kat Von D palette on my inner corner and brow bone with Sephora’s concealer brush.

IMG_0259

IMG_0207 IMG_0208

Next, I lined my upper lash line with Sephora’s slanted eyeliner brush with a dark brown shade called Busted from the Naked 2 palette to give more definition.

IMG_0263IMG_0194

Now for the fun part; the color!  I used a sparkly blue liner by Nickak that came in my Ipsy a few months back to line the lower, inner corner of my eye.  I just LOVE this pop of festiveness!

IMG_0266IMG_0231

Now of course we gotta get dem lashes done, gurl, so I then went in with Perversion mascara by Urban Decay and then sealed in that coat with some waterproof covergirl mascara.  I find that Perversion tends to get all around my eyes if I don’t seal it in with a good, waterproof mascara, but when used together, these two are my current lash dream team!

IMG_0234  IMG_0274

Of course, we need to tie that bright pop of red in there somewhere and what better way than with a classic red lip?  I am lining my lips with a clear lip liner by MUFE that will make sure that my bright red lips don’t bleed.  Then I am going in with my adorable, little sample size of Marc Jacobs’ So Rouge lipstick.  IT’S SO PRETTY.  AGH.  I just love it. 🙂

IMG_0281IMG_0223 (1)IMG_0227 (1)

And there we have our beautiful, simple, patriotic makeup!

IMG_0285

Onto the outfit!  I am wearing a plaid shirt from Aeropostale, jean shorts from American Eagle, white vans, and, OF COURSE, a red bandana, because it screams country pride and is SO cute.  A red bandana is a super cheap and easy way to tie some festiveness into your outfit! 🙂  Also, any jean jackets look very cute for this holiday in my opinion, so if you have one lying around, it would be a cute addition to a simple red or blue shirt for a simple 4th of July outfit!

IMG_0295

Now that we look the part for this party, let’s make the food!

I have put together some ridiculously easy and cute recipes for patriotic snacks that your guests will love!  That is if you don’t eat it all first.

For the first snack, we will be making red, white, and blue skewers!  You will need some red and blue fruit or berries of your choice that you happen to have in your fridge (I have picked blueberries and strawberries), marshmallows, and -of course- skewers.

IMG_0371

Layer them on your skewers in a red white and blue pattern and lay them out in a cute dish.  Your guests will love them!  They are SO cute and, best of all, extremely simple!

IMG_0380   IMG_0376

Onto the next snack -Patriotic Popcorn! THIS STUFF IS SO DELICIOUS.  Be warned; if you make this, you may eat it all yourself. 😉

Start by popping some popcorn or buying pre-popped popcorn that has no seasonings or butter.

IMG_0420

Next, melt some white chocolate and drizzle it over your bowl of crunchy goodness.

IMG_0414 IMG_0421 IMG_0411 IMG_0423

Now sprinkle on some red, white, and blue candy, mix (I mixed mine with a spatula because it was very hot), and serve in a festive bowl.

IMG_0441    IMG_0429

Done!  Now you have the most delicious and simple snack to get everyone hooked on!

Of course, we’ll need a drink to wash all this sugar down, so I have made an Independence Iced Tea.

You’ll need red, berry-flavored tea bags, blueberries, and either sugar or sprite

Start by heating up your water.

IMG_0365

Next, add in your tea bags and wait for them to steep.

IMG_0370  IMG_0366

Take out the tea bags and pour the tea into glasses with ice. (and a cute straw;)

IMG_0383 IMG_0384

Add some blueberries, ice and sweetener of your choice.  I added stevia to mine.  I did not have sprite, but it would make this drink really fizzy and sweet! 🙂

IMG_0387 IMG_0385

Feel free to decorate your glasses with fruit!

IMG_0400 IMG_0404

Tadahhh! All done!  And so yummy!

Onto the best part… decorations!

A photo booth is always a good idea at parties and they are super cheap and easy to make!

You will need a table cloth, streamers, and props (which I will show you how to make).

Hang up your table cloth in an area with good lighting.  I first tried to hang mine outside, but then realized the wind did not want to cooperate with me… it ended up turning me into a superhero, so it’s all good.  I decided to hang it inside in the end. 🙂

IMG_0321IMG_0323IMG_0320 (2) IMG_0317

Add your streamers and any other decor your little heart desires.

IMG_0351 IMG_0354

Done!

Now, for the props.

You will need some stars, straws, and a glue gun (or tape).  You can cut the stars out yourself on some festive paper or buy them at the store.  I got mine at Walmart for supah cheap! 🙂

IMG_0324

Glue your stars to your patriotic straws with a hot glue gun and let the glue dry.

IMG_0328 \

I placed mine in a cute little jar along with some flags for everyone to use as props!

IMG_0336 (2) \ \

Now, you and your guests will have a ton of fun posing with your cute photo booth!

IMG_0364 IMG_0363 IMG_0362 IMG_0361 IMG_0357 IMG_0360 IMG_0359

If you want to make your house a little more patriotic for this lovely holiday, I have a perfect little DIY for you!

I will be making cute, burlap star signs!

You will need three small canvases, burlap, a staple gun, three wooden stars, red, white, and blue paint, paint brushes, and a hot glue gun.  I purchased my canvases from Walmart, where they already were covered in burlap, so I will not have to staple mine on.  These cost about $4 for a pack of two.  If you need to staple the burlap onto your canvases, simply wrap the edges like you would a present and staple in place along the backside.  Make sure that your burlap is stretched tight!

Now, paint your stars and let them dry.

IMG_0307IMG_0315 IMG_0310

Feel free to make your stars more rustic-looking with a little sand paper!  Then, hot glue them onto your canvases and let the glue set.

IMG_0340 (1)IMG_0341IMG_0344 (1)IMG_0345 (1)

All done!  These cute little stars are so easy and fun to make!  They can spruce up any area quite nicely and bring some patriotic cuteness into your home!

And with that, our Fourth of July Partay has sadly come to a close. Thank you all so much for reading!  I hope that you enjoyed this post and maybe found some patriotic inspiration!  Happy 4th of July!  See you next time!

XO,

Hanna

My Summer Essentials! | Beauty Products, Books, and More!

Hello, my beautiful people!

Long time no blog!  I am back now that the summer is here and I am really looking forward to blogging MUCH more often since it is something I really enjoy!  Also, I now have a camera so I will be posting many more pictures!  What better way to kick off the season of summer than a post with all of my necessities? Let’s get to it!

I will start this off with something that I have been LOVING for making memories with friends; my polaroid camera!  I seriously love this thing and I think polaroid pictures are absolutely adorable!  This camera is perfect for snapping the perfect picture on the beach and being super tumblr-y with your friends. 🙂 If you do not have one of these, you can have pictures printed in polaroid form and they will be super cute!  I really want to get a scrapbook to put all of the pictures in or come up with a DIY to hang them. If y’all would be interested in that kind of post, let me know!

Some skincare products that I have been using are the Hawaii Passionfruit Kiss Body Scrub from Bath & Bodyworks, Amande Shower Oil from L’occitane, and Pink’s Surf Day Body Lotion.  Of course I need to fix those scaly legs for summertime, so I have been really enjoying this scrub.  It does the job and smells great!  This scrub is not super grainy so it does not work quite as well as some other scrubs, but I like that because it does not dry out my skin and I can actually use it all over my body to exfoliate instead of just my legs. The shower oil is sent from the heavens because it smells AMAZING and has 1,001 uses.  Okay maybe not that many, but it is quite useful.  It is a body wash and can be used as a shave cream (which it works wonderfully as) AND it is really hydrating… Also, did I mention it smells amazing?  It smells amazing.  The Surf Day Body Lotion makes me feel super summery when using it, which is essential for this post, so this product fits in here perfectly.  I think it is super hydrating, it dries pretty quickly on the skin and does not leave me feeling super oily, but most of all, I just really love the smell!  It’s summer in a bottle, people.  You probably need it.

Some more products that are pretty amazing are the Red Plum and Freesia scented perfume from Victoria’s Secret’s pure Seduction line, Clinique’s Dramatically Different Face Lotion, and Jergen’s Natural Glow Body Lotion (the face lotion is great, too!).  I cannot explain to you the depth of my love for these products.  This is proven by the fact that this perfume was in one of my favorites from LAST summer…  hehe.  I still use it every. day. And I will always love the smell of it -it smells like perfection.   It is fresh and sweet, but not too sweet.  It just smells amazing and that is the only way to properly describe it.  I do not normally finish bottles of perfume that are THIS big, so I will feel very accomplished when this runs out!  Onto the lotion… where do I begin?  It’s THE best face lotion that I have ever used!  My skin has been unusually clear lately and I think it is largely in part to this product.  It does not clog my pores and it soaks into my skin quickly without making it shiny and it works AMAZINGLY under makeup without giving me a greasy face when I don’t wait long enough after using this to apply my foundation.  Even though it soaks in quickly, it does not leave my skin still feeling dry afterwards… it just feels perfect!  I love this stuff and cannot wait to try more Clinique skincare after how much I love this!  Lastly, the Jergen’s Natural Glow lotion is AHHH-MAZING for when you want to have a super natural and beautiful glow!  Let me tell you, if you use this stuff daily, your tan can really build up!  I found that after using it for about a week, my skin was DEFINITELY a few shades darker, but it still looked SO natural and the color didn’t look orange or streaky.  I think this is a much better option for me than fake tan, because it is so low maintenance, looks more natural, and it smells like summer! 🙂  The prize of the tan makes me more motivated to take care of my skin and actually moisturize when I am usually too lazy to bother.  heh.

Alrighty, onto the next little group of products that I’ve put together!  I have been loving Mac’s Amber X 9 Eyeshadow Palette.  If you have been looking for a good palette for traveling that has everything you could possibly need and is super high quality… this is it.  It has every color I could need whilst traveling or any time really -gotta love those neutrals- and the pigmentation is great!  The size is perfect to throw in my little makeup bag and is a very convenient, versatile, and beautiful little palette all around. 🙂   Next in this little bundle of beauty goodness are these AMAZING nail polished from The Body Shop.  Where do I start with these?  Firstly, let’s just appreciate these beautiful colors for a moment.  (Shades: Peach Babe, Mint Cream, and Almond Kiss) *tears up*  Alright, so besides how much I love these summery and neutral colors, the long-lasting and SUPER pigmented quality of these is what really made me fall for them.  The formulation is the best out of any nail polish I have ever tried.  And that is saying something.  I have a stash of nail polishes.  Quite a large stash.  But none of them compare to these!  I swear, I could live off of them.  I am super lazy when it comes to painting my nails and if it takes more than one coat, chances are, I will smudge my nails as they drying or just not bother with a second coat at all and pray no one notices.   I never need to do more than one coat with these, they dry instantly, and have the pigmentation equivalent of at least two coats in most other nail polishes.  I recommend these so highly!  If you have been looking for some good polishes, my dear, you now have found them!  Lastly is something that is SO important for me in the summer… good eye makeup remover.  I don’t know about you, but I like my lashes to look good when I’m at the beach and I wear waterproof makeup a lot during this season.  Let’s just say I haven’t had the best experiences while removing waterproof mascara.  I have scratched my eyeball so many times by accident while trying to remove those stubborn piece of black clay that are glued to my eye sockets with their superhuman waterproof technology that refuses to budge.  I have lost count of the amount of times that this dangerous activity has caused me to injure myself, but NO MORE.  I have found an eye makeup remover that ACTUALLY removes waterproof mascara.  Is this real life?  Go ahead, pinch yourself, I was in shock for a while too.  Not only does this Bi-Facil eye makeup remover work AMAZINGLY on my waterproof mascara, I have also found another remover that I may like even more (I like it so much that I ran out of it and do not have a picture… whoops) – Clinique’s Eye Makeup Remover!  It’s like magic in a bottle.  My eyes will never be scratched by waxy lashes again and I will never have to get mascara sludge stuck under my nails after scraping the remnants of my mascara off of my eyes when the remover didn’t do its job!  HALLELUJAH.

And lastly, OF COURSE I need to include a book in my essentials, because it is SUMMER.  I mean, what am I supposed to do at the beach? I have been loving the Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo and am on the second book of the series, called Siege and Storm; The first is Shadow and Bone. If you are into the Fantasy/Adventure-y/YA genres, you will probably LOVE these books!  I am obsessed. 🙂

And here, my lovelies, we come to the end of my little (or maybe not so little, but let’s pretend) pile of things that i use constantly during this beautiful season of sunshine and happiness. I hope that you enjoyed this post and maybe found a few little products that will be helpful to you!  Thank you SO much for reading!  See you next time! ❤
