A Matte Lip That Isn’t Drying: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review

Hey there, lovelies!

Matte lips are all the rage nowadays.  I love them, but the problem is that even the most high end matte products tend to make my lips look awful and chapped.  They always intensify any lip troubles I am having instead of making me look like Kylie Jenner.  On top of that, I usually find them uncomfortable to wear on an everyday basis.  HOWEVER, I am excited to announce that I’ve finally discovered a matte product that works for me: *drum roll* NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream!

NYX soft matte lip cream review NYX soft matte lip cream review

The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream definitely deserves all of the rave that it has gotten -Why didn’t I listen to everyone sooner?  I regret each second of my life not spent with these beauties in it.  I now have four shades to tell you all about, so let’s get to the review!

Firstly, these Matte Lip Creams cost $5.99 a pop.  I’ve seen them at Target, Fred Meyer and Ulta.  If you want the widest range of shades to choose from, check out Ulta’s website, because they usually have double the shades which are available at other stores!

They go on extremely smoothly and evenly.  They smell nice and sweet, but not overwhelmingly strong. The applicator is your typical doe foot, but it’s the consistency of the product itself that really impresses me.  When you apply this cream, it gives your lips the most sharp, crisp, and clean edge!  Since these aren’t a liquid, I find them much easier to handle and get the perfect application.  I’m just too clumsy for liquid lipstick -one shake of the hand and your lips are screwed!  With these creams, I have much more control and my lips come out looking much nicer!

The finish is on the matte side, but I find that they don’t dry down as much as your typical liquid lipstick.  They still let your lips breath instead of feeling like they are encased in pavement.  Also, they last pretty well when eating and drinking, although they don’t have the lasting power of liquid lipsticks.

Let’s begin the swatches with my favorite of the bunch –Copenhagen!  Normally, I never go for deep or dark colors, so I was shocked at how much I loved this shade when I first put it on!  The first thing I noticed was just how evenly the color was applied.  Typically with these deep berry shades, I notice at least a bit of unevenness in color, but this goes on perfectly!  I am obsessed.

Next up, we have Antwerp, which is a coral/pink shade.  I think this color would be absolutely perfect for spring and summer, however it is a bit bright for my taste. I think the shade is gorgeous, but I’ll probably hold off on wearing it until the warmer months roll around again.

Milan is a beautiful pink shade.  I was expecting this one to be more on the nude side of things based off of the packaging, however it’s actually pretty bright.  I think that shade is gorgeous and it’s super pigmented, but again, I’ll probably reach for this more when things warm up a bit.

Last, but most definitely not least, is Istanbul.  This shade is a nude pink. It’s super natural and isn’t too light that it makes you look washed out.  I think this shade is perfect for everyday wear and I know I’ll be reaching for this one a lot!

Thanks so much for reading!  Have you tried NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Creams yet?  Do you know of any other matter lip products that still look great on dry skin?

Fall Favorites Collab with Valentina: The Eyeshadow Edition

Hey there, my beautiful people!

Fall… my favorite time of year.  The time where I get to put on beautiful autumn eyeshadows while dancing through the leaves with a pumpkin spice latte in hand.  I may not actually be providing you with a delicious PSL today, but I am however going to be showing the eyeshadows that I just can’t get enough of during this season of pumpkins and coziness.

This post is a collaboration with the beautiful Valentina Sofía (does she not have the prettiest name ever?), who will be sharing her top lipsticks for the season!  Her blog is amazing and you’ll definitely want to check it out!   Since our collab will inform you about the best products for eyes and lips, you’ll be set for fall! 😉 I hope that you enjoy!
My favorite fall eyeshadows My favorite fall eyeshadows

  1.  Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Little Sinner – I am absolutely in love with these eyeshadows for fall.  First off, they are SO pigmented and high quality.  The colors are gorgeous.  Just one swipe of these eyeshadows on your lids and BAM…  They’ll be covered in gloriously pigmented fall spirit.  Who doesn’t want that?  While this palette is only available on Amazon and Ebay now, extremely close matches to these shades are available in Kat Von D’s Metal Crush Collection.

Shades from top to bottom: Swan Song, Galore, Brave Awakening, and T-Rex

  2.  Nars Soft Touch Eyeshadow Pencil in Corcovado – I love this eyeshadow pencil since it works perfectly as a base.  It also gives me a really nice glow on it’s own, with just a slight bit of color.  It’s perfect for those days where I just want a little sum’n sum’n on my eyes.  It’s a very natural gold shade with a little shimmer to it.Mars Gold Eyeshadow StickNARS Eyeshadow stick SwatchIMG_7774
  3. Benefit Cosmetic’s Creaseless Cream Shadow in My Two Cents – Again, as I just mentioned, I love eyeshadows that also function as bases.  They make life so much easier (at least the eyelid-priming-portion of it, anyway).  This copper shade screams fall.  It never creases on me even though it is a cream.  It’s super pigmented and also has some shimmer to it.  I use this on it’s own or underneath other shadows to give them a warm, copper glow.  It’s a really great base for MAC’s Amber Lights since it enhances the copper tone even more.Benefit My Two Cents SwatchBenefit My Two Cents Cream EyeshadowbareMinerals My Two Cents
  4. bareMinerals Eyeshadow in True Gold – This eyeshadow is SO sparkly.  If blinding everyone around you with the beauty of your disco ball eyelids is not your thing, this eyeshadow won’t be for you… but if it is, you definitely need this in your life.  The warm gold shade is perfect for fall.  It looks stunning on every skin tone and I highly recommend it!  Everyone needs at least one shimmery gold shadow in their stash.  It is a staple in my beauty collection -especially during this time of year!bareMinerals true gold eyeshadow bareMinerals true gold eyeshadow
  5. bareMinerals Eyeshadow in Bare Skin – Sometimes, in this season of cozy sweaters, you just need a nice purple shade.  BareMinerals’ eyeshadow in Bare Skin is just that -it’s sparkly, it’s purple, it’s beautiful.  The color is not overpowering; It has just that slight tint of color to it that really makes your eyes pop, but is still very wearable for everyday use.  It has a beautiful shimmer to it as well.bareMinerals bare skin eyeshadow bareMinerals bare skin eyeshadow

Even though the bareMinerals eyeshadows do have some serious shimmer to them, they are not filled with those annoying chunks of glitter that fall all over your face as many sparkly eyeshadows do. There is nothing more annoying than glitter fallout! These stay in place, are extremely pigmented, and very long-wearing.

Thank you so much for reading!  Make sure to check out Valentina’s post to read the lipstick edition!  What are some of your favorite fall eyeshadows?

What I’ve Learned About Blogging

Hey there, beauties!

It’s been a bit over a year since I created this little space on the internet, which I love so dearly.  My blog is still in its toddler stages, just beginning to take its first virtual steps, but has already taught me so much.  Learning to blog has been an amazing experience and I grow to love and enjoy it more and more every day.  (Sorry for the amount of cheese, but it really is true)  I love the photography aspect of it.  Typing up my thoughts on all kinds of beautiful things is something that I really enjoy.  I realized that there are quite a few things that I’ve learned thus far which are worth mentioning, so mention the things I shall.

what blogging taught me

  1. Make sure you’re proud before you publish.

There have been times where I wanted to put new content on my blog so badly that I hit that publish button before I actually made sure the post was something that I was confident in. This has resulted in a bit of regret and quite a few times of using the delete button. In my opinion, it’s better to post less often and be super proud of what you do put out there on the internet than to be posting constantly and not be happy with your content.

  1. It’s ok to not be perfect.

This may seem like it contradicts the first point, but don’t beat yourself up for not being the best at blogging –especially when you’re just starting out! If you stress too much about the perfection of each and every post, the life will literally be sucked out of you through your miserable, typing fingers. If you aren’t having fun, what’s the point? Blogging should be enjoyable. With every post, you’ll improve! Cut yourself some slack every once in a while and pat yourself on the back, because you are amazing.

  1. You make some great blogging buddies along the way.

As you continue to blog and make connections with people through the internet, it’s inevitable that you’ll make some great friendships! This makes blogging so much more fun. I am so glad that I’ve met such awesome people through this experience. It’s great to have internet pals that have your virtual back.

  1. Social media is really helpful… even though it can be a pain.

I have met so many amazing people who share my love for makeup and beauty through social media. It has helped me to grow my blog and connect with others. I am definitely not an expert on the topic and, honestly, social media stresses me out a bit, but Twitter and Instagram have really helped me out in the blogging department. Social media opens your doors to all kinds of opportunities!

  1. The more love you give others, the more you’ll get back.

If you find someone’s blog post interesting or entertaining, let them know! It is a great feeling to get feedback on the content that you put out there on the internet and, chances are, they’ll probably return your kind favor and check out some of your posts, too. So, spread the love, people, because everyone needs it.

Thank you so much for reading!  I hope that you enjoyed seeing what this blog has taught me!  Do you have a blog? What has it taught you?

Hanna

Marvelous Mauve | My Favorite Lip Color

Hello, lovelies!

How do you pronounce ‘mauve’? Mawv. Mohv. AGH. *pulls out hair* Who knows? Anyway, I think we can all agree that this shade is beautiful no matter what it sounds like! I am an avid fan of mauve lips.  I have an ever-growing collection of products which look exactly alike since I am always drawn to this shade! *whoops*  To me, mauve is a muted/dusty purple color, similar to a “Your Lips but Better” shade, except a bit darker.  I typically shy away from bold lips, so this color is perfect for me since it is so natural and adds just a bit of color.  I have a few favorite products in this shade that I am constantly reaching for this time a year, which I shall now share with you all!

purple lipstick

  1. Ofra Lip Pencil in Wine This lip liner is the perfect shade for fall.  It is a slightly deeper shade than my lips, but still looks very natural.  When I use this to lightly line the outer edge, it does not look like I am wearing any product at all, my lips just look naturally full.IMG_0690
  2. Buxom Lipstick in Hooligan  This shade is pretty much an exact match to liner I just mentioned, only in lipstick form.  I love to wear this during the fall!  It’s moisturizing and long-lasting.IMG_3369 (1)
  3. Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in Lovecraft I LOVE THIS LIPSTICK.  This shade is very popular.  It is constantly sold out and very hard to get your hands on! I used some of my points to get a little sample of this beautiful product since I can never find the full-sized one.  It is a matte lipstick with some major lasting power!  It does pretty well even when eating and drinking!  The shade is slightly lighter than the previous products mentioned and is an exact match to the natural color of my lips.  I normally shy away from such opaque lipsticks, but since this one is so natural, I love wearing it! It is not drying as most matte products are and it doesn’t settle into any fine lines.IMG_1592 (2)
  4. Buxom Gloss in Dolly  This gloss compliments with Hooligan very well, but also looks amazing on its own.  I wear this gloss constantly and love the glossy shine it adds to my lips.  IMG_3487

  5. NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu This gloss is perfect for everyday wear.  I always find myself reaching for it since it is an easy, swipe-and-go product.  It is a bit lighter than all the other shades.  I love that this gloss has no shimmer in it and leaves my lips with a very natural shine.  If you’re looking for some high quality, affordable lipgloss, I highly recommend all of NYX’s Butter Glosses! IMG_7065
  6. NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien I know, I talk about this lip pencil constantly on my blog… but for good reason!  This product is so beautiful and leaves your lips with a little bit of shimmer.  It goes with any makeup look and you definitely need it in your life.IMG_3606

Thank you so much for reading!  What are your favorite mauve lip products?  Also, how do you pronounce mauve?

Fall Floral

Hello, beauties!

With fall approaching fast, I’ve been very excited about infinity scarves, boots, and sweaters!  Autumn is my favorite season since I love the fashion, food, and the weather!  Even the makeup during this season is something I look forward to!  I’ve put together a neutral fall-inspired outfit that is very cute and casual for everyday wear.  Every piece in this outfit is a basic staple for the fall season and goes perfectly with the pop of color from the infinity scarf!  This is a typical outfit that I would wear on a cool fall day and I hope that you enjoy it!

Matte Lips 101 | Prevent Creasing and Flaky Skin

Hey there, lovelies!

With the Fall season coming up, I’ve been getting very excited about matte, Kylie Jenner-esque lipsticks!  If you have dry, chapped lips like me, you’ll know how much of a struggle it is to have matte lipstick look halfway decent and not settle into all the lines and flaky skin!  I’ve discovered a few things which make applying matte lipsticks SO much easier for me and today, I’d like to share them with you!

IMG_5120
Matte-5Matte-7

1. Exfoliate

IMG_5035IMG_5724 (1)IMG_6652-1
This may be the most important step!  If your lips are not exfoliated, the lipstick will make your lips look like a chapped mess.  I have a bit of trouble with flaky lips, so I regularly use Lush’s Bubblegum Lip Scrub, which smells absolutely amazing!  Also, I make my own DIY lip scrub that is super easy to make and happens to smell wonderful as well!

2. Moisturize

IMG_4277IMG_4289

Matte lip products will suck all the moisture out of your lips, so it’s very necessary to use some sort of lip balm before applying your lipstick!  This will prevent your lips from getting dried out underneath the matte lip product.  I absolutely LOVE Lush’s Ultrabalm and highly recommend it for anyone with dry, flaky skin!  This product can be used on the lips or any troubled, dry areas.  It’s very soothing and locks in moisture like no other product I’ve ever used!

3. Prime

IMG_6998

When applying any sort of lip product, it is very helpful to prep your lips with a thin layer of concealer or just plain old face primer.  Lip primers also exist, but I don’t think they are necessary when some of the products you probably already own will do the trick!  This will make the lipstick last longer, show the true color of the product more, and make the application easier.  I like to use Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Concealer or Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer.  You’ll be amazing at how much more smoothly the lipstick will apply with such a great base!

4. Line

IMG_9799

Lining your lips with make the application of your lipstick SO much cleaner, easier, and more precise.  It will prevent any bleeding or smudging of product and also increase the lasting power!  I am using my L’oreal Infallible Lip Liner in Rose, but I also recommend Makeup Forever’s Lip Line Perfector, since it is clear and works with any color of lip product.  It’s absolutely amazing at keeping your lipstick in place and preventing any bleeding of product!  It really does perfect the lips!  I think it’s a great investment if you’re into lip products and want something to make them last all day and look amazing!

5. Conceal

IMG_3755

After applying your matte lipstick of choice (Some of my fave’s are Gerard Cosmetic’s Serenity and Kat Von D’s Lovecraft) using a concealer brush or any small, precise brush you own, sharpen the edges of your lips and clean up any mistakes you may have made with some concealer.  This will really finish off your lips and make them look perfect!  Again, I’m using my trusty ol’ Naked Skin Concealer with a BareMinerals Concealer Brush.

Thanks so much for reading!  What are some of your tips for flawless matte lips? (Yes, that rhyme makes me very happy)

Hanna

My Travel Makeup Essentials

Hello, lovelies!

*Psst* Today is the last day to enter my MAC Lipstick Giveaway, so be sure to enter >>> here <<< before time’s up! 🙂

When traveling, I like to have all of my makeup necessities with me.  I pack all of my less-essential makeup (foundation, eyeshadow, bronzer, etc.) in a bigger bag that is kept in my suitcase, and keep all of my most important products with me, in my carry-on.

These are the products I cannot live without and are easy to use while traveling!

IMG_4672 IMG_4675 IMG_4674 IMG_4677

In my makeup bag (which is from Ipsy) , I have:

NYX Matte Blotting Paper  – This is a MUST for my oily T-zone!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer -I’m always exhausted from traveling and will look like a zombie without a little help in the under-eye department.

Pixi Beauty Crayon Combo in Wide Awake -This helps bring my tired eyes back to life when I use it in my waterline.

Cailyn Cosmetics Just Mineral Eye Polish in 117 Goddess – I love the travel-friendly packaging of this!  It comes with a little sponge applicator that you use to apply the product to the lid for a nice, shimmer-y gold look!  I blend it out a little with my finger and I’m good to go!

Lush’s Ultrabalm – I don’t know about you, but flying makes my lips SUPER dry, so this is a must!  I can use it on any other dry patches I have also!  See my review of this product in my Lush Fav’s post. 🙂

Revlon Photo Ready Powder – I can get VERY oily in my T-Zone, so touching it up with powder is a must!

Benefit Lollitint – This product has multiple uses, which makes it great for travel!  Also, I have the little, baby sample size which is even more perfect.  I dab this on my cheeks and lips to give me some color and help further get rid of the zombie effect the plane has taken on my face.

Victoria’s Secret Mirror Compact (this one is no longer available, but I found a similar mirror:) – I don’t know about you, but I cannot successfully complete the no-mirror makeup challenge on land, nonetheless in a plane, so this is very useful!

J’orel Parker Rollerball in Classico – Traveling is the perfect chance to use the rollerball perfumes I normally would forget about!  They are the perfect size to take with you.  I recommend this scent SO much.  It’s quickly become a new favorite of mine and it’s not overpowering!

Revlon’s Eyelash Curler – I love how much more awake I look when curling my lashes, so this is definitely a necessity!  This curler NEVER pinches my eyelids, so I really love it!

Sephora Outrageous Curl Mascara – This mascara is the absolute easiest mascara to apply that I have ever had the pleasure of using.  It grabs every lash and gives me SO much length but also a lot of volume without making my lashes clumpy at all!

Thanks so much for reading!  What’s in your travel beauty bag?

Hanna

My Holy-Grail Foundation | Worth The Splurge

Hello, lovelies!!

I hope that all of you are having an amazing day!  Today, I wanted to share with you the product that I have used consistently for YEARS; Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Foundation.  I love this foundation to death and have never used another that performed nearly as well on my skin!  I don’t think this product gets raved about enough, so it definitely deserves this post! 🙂

IMG_4633 (1) IMG_4640 (1) IMG_4636 (1) IMG_4637 (1) IMG_4641 (1)

Price: This foundation costs $40, but it lasts me forever since the consistency is very liquid and a little goes a long way!

Packaging: The packaging is beautiful and I love that it has a pump!  The glass bottle feels sturdy and looks super sleek.

Shades:  Urban Decay has a very wide variety of shades.  The shades ending in .0 are warm and those ending in .5 are cool toned.

Coverage:  It gives medium to full coverage that is definitely build-able.  It has a satin finish that looks like natural skin.  It covers any hyper pigmentation on my face and I can blend it out to a more sheer finish on the places that I don’t want as much coverage.  It’s extremely light-weight.  I can’t even tell I have foundation on when I wear this!

Consistency:  This is a very liquidy foundation.  It’s extremely light-weight.  I can’t even tell I have foundation on when I wear this!  I only use about a pump of this on my entire face since it’s extremely easy to blend out and I like sheer to medium coverage.

Recommended Skin Type:  It does not cling to any flaky patches on my skin and it doesn’t get super oily throughout the day in my T-zone.  I think this foundation would work well on any skin type!

Naked Skin Foundation According to Urban Decay:

“A weightless and virtually invisible liquid foundation that creates a luminous, demi-matte finish.

This formula helps skin achieve a natural, illuminated and bright finish— like the beautiful skin you were born with. Naked Skin is formulated with light-diffusing spheres, transforming you to look professionally retouched.

The finish is matte, never flat, and luminous, but not shiny.

This makeup loads skin with a list of nourishing ingredients including: Matrixyl 3000 (a powerful anti-wrinkle peptide), protective and brightening Litchiderm, antioxidant Green Tea and Sodium Hyaluronate for optimal skin hydration and nutrient absorption.”

Naked Skin Foundation is Formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Synthetic Fragrances
– Phthalates
– GMOs
– Triclosan

Where You Can Buy It:  I purchase my Naked Skin Foundation from Sephora.  They make it very easy to return if the shade does not match or you aren’t pleased with the product.  I have exchanged shades several times! 🙂

Rating and Recommendation: Overall, I’d give this foundation a 10/10!  I would definitely recommend it to everyone!  It’s very customizable to the amount of coverage you would like and will have a nice finish on all skin types.  You need this in your life!  I don’t know how I’d live without it in mine!  I’ve used this foundation for about 3 years now and it has never failed me. 🙂

Thanks for reading!  What’s your favorite foundation?

Hanna

The Perfect Base | Natural, Everyday Face Makeup

Hi there!

Today, I’ll be showing you all the products that are my recipe to a glowing complexion that looks very natural and beautiful!  These products are perfect for an everyday flawless face. 🙂

IMG_4601 (1) IMG_4541 (1)

Step 1: Prime!

IMG_4588

My ALL-TIME FAVORITE primer is Smashbox’s Photo Finish primer!  This stuff is absolutely amazing at smoothing out my skin and making my makeup last all day!  I don’t ever get oily when I use this primer and it also helps foundation not to cling to my dry, flaky patches!  I am using a sample size of this primer right now and I think it’s so adorable in such a miniature bottle. :3

Step 2: Conceal 🙂

IMG_4550 (1) IMG_4545 (1)

I am obsessed with Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Concealer!  It blends so smoothly and gives me full, but natural-looking coverage!  Also, I really love the bendy applicator!  It is great for precisely applying the product and it just makes me so happy!  It’s the little things, people.

Step 3: Foundation

IMG_4552

For a natural-looking, lightweight product that still gives pretty good coverage, I have been loving Smashbox’s Camera Ready BB Cream.  This stuff is amazing!  It has SPF and fixes any discoloration while still making me feel like my skin can breath.  This is my favorite BB Cream that I’ve ever used since it doesn’t dry out my skin!

Step 4:  Brighten

IMG_4574 (1) IMG_4579 (1)  IMG_4576 (1)  IMG_4582 (1) IMG_4584 (1)

To get my #HighlightOnFleek, I’ve been obsessed with Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl liquid highlight.  This smells SO. GOOD.  I apply this to my cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and also a little on my chin and bridge of my nose.  This makes me have such a natural glow and is super easy to blend onto the skin!  I’ve been using this product to really embrace the “strobing” trend recently. It’s also great to apply before -or even mixed with- foundation to give your skin that “glowing from within” look.

Step 5: Set

IMG_4558 (1)IMG_4557 (1)

I love Revlon’s Translucent Finisher to lock my makeup in place all day!  It has a sort of shimmer to it, which terrified me at first, but I actually really, really love it!  It doesn’t look shimmery on the skin and it won’t make your makeup look cake-y!

Step 6: Add Color and Dimension

IMG_4568 (1) IMG_4565 (1) IMG_4564 (1)

Milani’s Illuminating Face Powder in Amber Nectar is a beautiful powder that can be used as a bronzer, blush, or highlight!  I love to use this as a blush that gives a nice, bronze-y, pinkish glow to my face.  It looks SO natural, but really bring some color and life back into my skin!  I love how hassle-free this product is since I can skip highlighting or bronzing if I want and just go straight for this since it can do everything!  It’s great if you need a multi-use product!

IMG_4631 (1) IMG_4625 (1) IMG_4605 (1) IMG_4590 (1)

I hope that you enjoyed seeing all of the products I use to get natural, glowing face makeup!  What are your favorite base makeup products?

Hanna

Collab With Plus Beauty: My Top 5 Summer Lipstick Picks

Hello, lovely people:)

Today, I am collaborating with one of my favorite bloggers; Katie from Plus Beauty!  We will each be sharing our top 5 Summer Lipsticks!   You should definitely go have a peek at her post and follow her amazing blog. 🙂  I hope you enjoy seeing our favorite lipsticks for the summertime!

IMG_4078IMG_4065 IMG_4066IMG_4061

1. Mac’s Pure Zen Cremesheen -$16 USD

This color is the perfect summery-nude shade since it is a warmer, peachy tone and won’t look odd or too light on tanned skin.  It has a sheen to it and is lightweight for everyday summer use!

IMG_2048 IMG_4142 IMG_4122

2. Essence’s Coral Calling 01 -$2.99 USD

IMG_6687IMG_4114 (1)

This is a coral/pink shade with a slight sheen.  It lasts for hours and never dries out my lips.  Even after it has worn off, these lipsticks almost dye my lips a little, so they always have color even after the product has worn off.  The price of this lipstick is amazing!  I really recommend Essence’s lipsticks if you’re looking for something affordable!

3. Wet ‘n Wild’s Hot Paris Pink 542B – $.99 USD

IMG_0278 IMG_4108

I LOVE this beautiful, bright pink shade.  It is slightly shiny and feels very light on the lips for summertime.  It leaves a pink tint to the lips even after wearing off.  It claims to have 4-hour wear, but will leave them looking pink even after the 4 hours are up!  I love this color of pink, because I find it actually makes my teeth look whiter, where many pink shades make teeth look yellow.  Also, you can’t beat the price!

4. Essence’s Wear Berries 09 -$2.99 USD

IMG_1555 IMG_3861 IMG_4132 IMG_4095 IMG_4096

This lipstick is a warm purple that has a beautiful sheen to it.  Again, you can’t beat the price and formula of Essence’s lipsticks.  I love this shade as it is a warmer purple color that doesn’t look too overpowering when worn.  It doesn’t make my teeth look yellow as some purples can.

5.  Maybelline’s Color Whisper in 100 Plum Prospect – $7.49 USD

IMG_5763 IMG_4097  IMG_4140 IMG_4167

This is a very warm, berry, purple shade.  It may look intimidating in the tube, but it is such a sheer, gel-like formula that the color is not overpowering at all.  It can be built up to a brighter color or, by using just a few dabs, give a light berry tint to the lips.  This is a glossy lipstick and lasts a surprisingly very long time.  This dyes my lips and leaves them a beautiful berry color all day long when I wear it!  After swatching it on my hand, it dyed my skin and still hasn’t worn off!
