I am starting a series in which I will be showing you my makeup collection in little sections! Today’s little category of my stash is *drumroll*….. drugstore foundation! I will include some mini reviews of these foundations and tell you which one is my FAVORITE.
Firstly, we have Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation. I think that this foundation is AMAZING for people with normal to dry skin, BUT when my skin is extra oily or it’s extra warm outside, I do not like to wear this foundation because it will slip and slide all over my face and get pretty oily. It settles in the sides of my nose and wipes off around my mouth as the day goes on. I hate this foundation when my skin is oily, but I love to use it when my skin is being dry and flaky, because it gives me a glow and makes my skin look healthy again.
Next up, Maybelline’s Dream Liquid Mousse is also in my stash of drugstore foundations. I think that it is great for fuller coverage, since it is a very thick texture and I like the finish it has on my skin. It’s not too dewy, but not quite matte. However, I am not a big fan of fuller coverage foundations, so I don’t normally reach for this one. I like my skin to breathe.
I have one powder in this collection and that is my L’oreal Truematch Mineral Foundation. It’s super convenient since it comes with its own little brush (mine got squished in the lid, oops), but I don’t love the shade of this on my skin. I almost think it makes me look a little grey-ish pink and it looks a bit cake-y and dry. If you have oilier skin, you might enjoy this product.
Rimmel’s Match Perfection Foundation is something that I’ve heard everyone rave about, but it just doesn’t do it for me… it leaves my face and eyes feeling irritated and when I used this product, I felt like I could see it sitting on my skin. I have odd skin, so you may not have this problem -most people love this stuff!
Lastly, I have my FAVORITE foundation, which is L’oreal’s TrueMatch. I am obsessed with this. I need to buy it in my Summer shade, because I miss wearing it. It has a satin finish and works on my skin whether it’s deciding to be dry or oily that day. It is long-wearing and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I really highly recommend this foundation if you have the same troubles with combination and sensitive skin! (Or any skin type)
I hope you’ve enjoyed a little look inside my makeup stash and that these little mini reviews were helpful to you! What are your favorite drugstore foundations? Until next time!
